The Blessed Mother
I was thinking last night . . . something wonderful about the Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary . . .there is never a time she is mentioned that you do not think first of Jesus . . . she is totally about Christ Jesus.
The other greats in the Holy Scripture may ultimately be about GOD but you often think of them, and something they did, when you see their names, their history . . . Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Solomon, Isaiah, keep going through the OT and even in the NT . . . but only Mary, the Blessed Mother, is an immediate JESUS and only JESUS - see? "Do whatever He tells you." That is her song.
"Do whatever He tells you." That is her song. "Do whatever He tells you."
I thought of that last night and, up to and through Pentecost, we see her and we always "think of Jesus" don't we? Always. She was born with a purpose and she fulfilled her purpose.
Then I thought, what will they remember about me?

I will remember a passionate lover of Jesus and His Mother...and a zealous defender of Truth, and His Church..and a special friend of the Angels, and a precious 'saint in training'..that's what I'll think of when I remember you..<3 xo
Oh, am I so glad I read this today. I needed something sweet and, of course, it would come from you. I love you, sweet Gabriella.
When I think of you I think smiles, and warmth, and joy oozing out, of the Bible connected with FUN and deep things like prayer on the knees and worship from the heart (and time to be quiet and listening and fully attentive) and the Catechism and good books and EXCITEMENT over new ideas and insights from the Holy Spirit. I think of childlike faith for Mary and angels. I think of Henri Nouwen and Blessed Mother Teresa and Cardinal Newman. I think of blue binders and CSS totebags and pens that have prayers that pull out from the sides. I think of cool electronic gadgets and pens in colors and zippy cases. I think of good food and laughs and deep conversation about the soul. I think of people from around the world that love you so much and all those you have become close friends with through their work whether an author or an artist or whether they sell the best bed or lotion. I think of how so many of my fondest memories include you (with more to come)!
and of course I think of you and Tom so happy together and so sweet to watch together. :)
and embroidered pillows and bookmarks! :)

We knew our Mothers nine months longer than we knew ourselves. She kept us warm and fed us even before we were born. We always counted on her and she was always there!!!! Isn't that wonderful ? We will always miss her but GOD gave us the Blessed Mommy to trust and we known we can count on her! Mothers were GOD'S best idea! He knew HE would want one , too!
